Delivered at one of PMV’s national training centres (Perth, Karratha & Adelaide), or at a client’s facility.
In this PLC training, participants will write, test and troubleshoot programs for sequential process applications using the Siemens S7-300 series controller. Functional requirements include operator control, status indication, alarms, equipment maintenance policy, process data, fault diagnostics, and safety policy.
This qualification provides competencies to plan and design installation of electrical equipment in hazardous areas (EEHA) to AS/NZS 60079.14:2022. The design unit provides competency and associated assessment requirements is adopted from clause 2.13 of AS/NZS 4761.1:2018. The plan unit provides competency and associated assessment requirements is adopted from clause 2.8 of AS/NZS 4761.1:2018.
This course is our “engineering level” course. This skill set is designed for electrical and instrumentation designers and planers working in hazardous area industries. It focuses on understanding of the Ex-protection required for electrical installation for hazardous areas(EEHA); determining the scope of the required electrical installation from hazardous area classification (HAC) drawings, process specifications and plant design; documenting detailed specifications of compliant explosion-protected equipment and wiring systems, equipment locations, cable routes; and obtaining and interpreting the standards to which the installations need to comply.
PRE-REQUISITES:
A candidate seeking assessment in this skill set shall have been deemed competent to gather and analyse technical data in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline at AQF level 6 or equivalent.
Blended delivery of 40% theory and 60% practical training in a range of activities including independent design work that you are likely to see in a typical industrial installation with electrical equipment in hazardous areas (EEHA).
Statement of Attainment (SOA)
This Statement is issued to a student who has successfully completed one or more units of competency on meeting the prerequisite requirements.
CODE | TITLE |
